USA Wrestling and the University of Iowa are now accepting media accreditation requests for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling, scheduled for April 9-10 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
The U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling return to Iowa City and Carver-Hawkeye Arena after the successful and sold-out 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling.
There will be up to 18 spots for wrestlers on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team, which will compete in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Competition will be in the three Olympic disciplines of the sport, men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman.
The application process is simple this year. In order to receive a credential, media members must send an email with all the necessary data about themselves and their media outlet.
Each journalist must provide this basic information:
• Full Name
• Media outlet
• E-mail
• Cell phone number
• Job Function (Federation staff, print journalist, print photographer, internet reporter, Non-Rights Holder-radio, Non-Rights Holder-television, Rights Holder broadcaster)
• Past major wrestling events or Olympic-family events covered.
• Color headshot

In in timely fashion, you will be notified if your application is accepted, with follow-up information leading up to the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. You may be asked for additional information about your media outlet or coverage plans before a decision is reached on your application.
For broadcast media, please be aware there may be restrictions on the video coverage of this event, as determined by the rights holders NBC Sports and the U.S. Olympic Committee. These regulations will be distributed to all accredited media when available.
Media accreditation requests must be made by April 1, 2016.
